    At the Marion Arts Festival,
    everyone is an artist.

In its 17th year, the MAF’s ‘Art in the Depot’ program invites all attendees the opportunity to work side-by-side with Iowa artists. The 2017 experience will again feature guest artists from the Iowa Ceramics Center. Pottery wheels will spin and clay activities will abound, offering attendees the option of getting decidedly dirty! Families will have the opportunity to create bowls for donation to the 2018 Empty Bowls sale! All proceeds donated to area food banks!

The Iowa Ceramics Center is a Cedar Rapids-based ceramics and glass collective offering a range of programming, including classes for all skill levels, internship opportunities, and adult social events featuring both wine and clay.

The Iowa Ceramics Center! Watch to see a demonstration of the experiences they facilitate on festival day.

Are you interested in volunteering hands-on in the Depot? Some fuss, a little muss. Contact us us for information and encouragement.

Support for the Art in the Depot program is provided by Farmers State Bank. Past projects can be seen in Marion’s City Hall, Public Library and Post Office, among other Marion and Cedar Rapids metro area locations.
FSB's vision for Marion has been the inspiration for each Art in the Depot project, and we thank them for their commitment to this valued aspect of festival hoopla.
